Reading History
Well, reading isn’t really my thing. But, I do it here and there. I am currently at a 11th grade reading level because I can read very well; I just don’t enjoy it that much. Right now, when I do read, it is mostly like magazines and things of that nature.
When I was younger, my parents started to teach me how to read. So, by the time I got to kindergarten I already knew how to read. Books I remember reading in kindergarten are things like; color books, Dr. Seuss, and those fun little find it books. I guess you could say that I was kind of advanced because they wanted to skip me up a grade! I think that came from my parents helping me every day after school before sending me outside.
When I got to Blackwood Elementary, English was still pretty easy for me. I read books by authors like; Luis Sachar, and Barbara Park. I loved Junie B. Jones! Also, Maniac Magee and all the Luis Sachar books. That’s what got me liking comedy books. I always kept a pretty high grade in English in elementary.
When I starting walking the halls of Glen Landing, that’s when things got a little tough. We started reading mote complicated books like; The Giver, The Pearl, and other challenging books. However, I found my favorite book in sixth grade; The Pin balls by Betsy Byars. I kind of had problems with staying on a reading schedule.
Coming into CCTS, English was easy. Although, I have had problems with symbolism in books like Speak and A Perfect Snow, I do pretty well still in English. It’s not my favorite subject but it is a requirement so I try my best.
Honestly, I don’t really see myself having a career in English. But, I do enjoy comedy books because they can make me smile when I’m having a bad day. And, I like suspense because they are page turners just like life. You think you know what’s going to happen but then it’s another day or another page and it’s something totally different!
As of right now, reading still isn’t that exciting to me. The most reading I do is on social networks or magazines. I really don’t enjoy reading books, but I will do what I have to do to pass English 3. Books aren’t really exciting to me, that’s why I don’t read as much as I should. I do the requirements in school, that’s about it. You won’t catch me actually reading a book that isn’t for school. That’s really the only educational reading I do.

Abstract
This puzzle cube project was to test our knowledge, creativity, and imagination. It shows how to solve and make a puzzle cube. By reading this you will be able to make a very challenging puzzle for you and your friends.
Introduction
For this project we created a puzzle cube. We made drawings and digitally made them on the computer using Auto Desk Inventor 2009. Then we put it together and had our puzzle complete.
Background
A furniture company has a bunch of scrap wood lying around. Instead of throwing it out they decided to make puzzles out of the scrap wood. I was given the task of designing this puzzle. I first was given the rules stating that you could only use 27 pieces, each piece must include 3-6 pieces, and every piece has to be different. Then creating the puzzle I used the trial and error method creating my pieces. Then I finally came up with my combination and chose my colors. After that rigorous annotation I finally put all my pieces together and started creating my puzzle. Then I followed the procedure to finish my project.
Materials
1. pencil
2. isometric paper
3. graphing paper
4. auto desk inventor
5. computer drawings
6. colored pencils
7. glue
8. portfolio
9. cubes
10. clamps
Procedure
1. 11/25/08 take notes on the on the way it is supposed to be done
2. create background
3. freehand sketch shapes
4. design layers of cube with each shape colored
5. isometric each shape and color
6. isometric the whole cube and color
7. isometric the pieces on auto desk and draw and assemble
8. draw each part on auto desk and whole cube with dimensions
9. create the parts using the real cubes and create cube
10. do report and challenge friends to solve your cube
Results
In the beginning I did the trial and error method. Making shapes and figures were hard. Then putting them together was even harder. In the end I found the strength of mind to put my project together.

Lyrics to my favorite song
Tell me where am i supposed to go?
And who am I supposed to believe.
If only you knew what I knew.
Then you could see just what I see.
[Chorus]
So I grab my bags and go, as far away as I can go.
Cause everything ain't what I used to know.
And I try to hide, but I just can't hide no more.
There's nothing worse than feeling like a ghost.
You say I look fine, if only you knew what's on my mind.
You'd see a whole different sign, I couldn't show you even if I tried.
I must have got lost in time when I found out I was only free to be, where ever I want to be.
Some say I'm out of sight, how I run and that we're all so blind.
If you could open up your eyes, you could see what I couldn't describe.
And then, you'd see the signs, and then your soul would be set free, and then you'd be released.
[Chorus]
So I grab my bags and go, as far away as I can go.
Cause everything ain't what I used to know.
And I try to hide, but I just can't hide no more.
There's nothing worse than feeling like a ghost.
Tell me where am I supposed to go.
And who am I supposed to believe.
If only you knew what I knew.
Then you could see. (Hey)
[Chorus]
So I grab my bags and go, as far away as I can go.
Cause everything ain't what I used to know.
And I try to hide, but I just can't hide no more.
There's nothing worse than feeling like a ghost.
And I'm terrified, like I've seen a UFO.
Cause everything ain't what I used to know.
And I try to hide, but I just can't hide no more.
There's nothing worse than feeling like a ghost.
(I go)
(A UFO)
(And I'm so tired of hiding, I've been running, I've been trying, to get away, to get away)
So I grab my bags and go, as far away as I can go.
Cause everything ain't what I used to know.
And I try to hide, but I just can't hide no more.

-- If you think about this song, its really deep. He's saying that he puts up a front for everyone, and no one takes the time to see if there is actually something wrong....

Who Am I ?
Who am i?
Do you know?
Do you care?
Where do I come from?
How did I get here?
I've made mistakes...
How do I fix them?
Forgive me.
I know i'm suppose to know these answers...
But I don't
Do you?
Do you know?

Where do I come from?
How did I get here?

Forgive me.
I know i'm suppose to know these answers...
But I don't

Where I'm From
I’m from the new generation
I am from hearing my dad say “school first and girls and sports second”
Where if you get an “F’” on your report card you could kick your parents straight out of heaven.
I am from where Lil’ Wayne is the best rapper alive
Where 60 isn’t old, it’s the new 35.
I am wearing abstract colors is stylish
Where it ok (not to me) for guys to wear eye liner and nail polish.
I am from where jerkin is second nature
Where someone you thought were real could be the biggest faker.
I am from where the Eagles still haven’t won a Super Bowl
Where being rich by 40 is every Americans’ main goal
That’s where I’m from

Speak
The book Speak is a very good teenage book. I read it last year. It talks about a lot of teenage problems. Some examples are things like cliques and clans, changing your image, and almost everything freshmen go through coming into high school. This book zones in on the life of an “outsider”. In other words a person with no friends, doesn’t get the best the grades, gets into trouble, and is very alone. The character who plays this role is Melinda. Melinda has a very dark secret. The guilt eats her alive. She is alone in an mental mind state.
I would recommend this book to the age group between13 and 15. I would say this because these are the kids who are just getting put of middle school and starting high school. Also the main character is about the same age. It deals with some of the feelings you get before you enter high school. It is a good book for this age group because they deal with these problems and go through some of the same things.
To sum up this critique, I would say this good book for the middle teenage years and it would be a good experience for them to read it.

Reading History
I started reading like any other toddler. My earliest memories were being read the Bible. My parents always read me the Bible because they both grew up in church. I also was read short stories as I child I went to sleep. The first I ever read by self was One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. Imagine the excitement of knowing how to read before kindergarten.
My whole family taught me how to read while growing up. The main person was my mom. Every day she gave me a little lesson of how to read and figure out words that I didn’t know before. Since I knew how to read before school kindergarten through second grade was “cake”. I knew could read third grade level books!!! Although, I really enjoyed Junie B. Jones books.
By the time I got to junior high books got longer and more boring. We had to read books that didn’t have anything to do with class. Luckily, I had pretty cool LAL teachers until 8th grade. He was the dullest teacher you could ever have. He made us read the most boring books and didn’t even really know about the books his self. The most boring he ever made us read was The Pearl by John Steinback. It was terrible!!! I would never read that book again.
Now I’m reading my grade level books. I like comedy and teenage problems. Although, my favorite authors are Betsy Byars and Louis Sachar, I really enjoy Walter Dean Myers also. These three authors keep you turning the page and wondering what will happen next. I really like these authors but, the things I enjoy reading the most is magazines like Hip Hop Weekly, Sports Illustrated, and Jet. The reasons why magazines catch my eye are the covers and ads. By reading this essay you probably think I like reading but, I really don’t. I think my teacher could give me helpful tips for how to pick a good book so maybe can get more into reading. That’s my reading history.
